Grade Break-Down
Grades will be on a standards based grading system. Homework, in class work, entry tasks, participation and Standards for Mathematical Practice will be worth 25% of your overall grade. The rest (75%) will be based off of scores on standards from tests and quizzes.

Homework/In Class Work Policy
Homework and in class work will be assigned and collected as needed. I will accept late work for 50% credit up until the test for that unit. Once the test is over, then no more homework will be accepted for that unit.

Homework and in class work will be graded on completion not correctness on a scaled of 1 – 4. So please attempt all of the problems that are assigned. Full credit will be given to students who complete the required problems and show their work for each one.

Quizzes and Tests
Quizzes and tests will be graded on a scale of 1 – 4 for each standard that is tested on that particular assessment. The grade breakdown is listed above. If you improve on the final assessment on a standard, the score will replace. If you do worse, the grade will be averaged. Standards overall will make up 75% of your grade. You can retake standard scores lower than a 3.3, which is a B (83%) and you can earn up to a 3.3.

Supplies
For this class you will need a pencil or a pen (preferably a pencil) every day. You will also need a spiral notebook for notes, and a folder to keep completed work in.
